What is "The Palace"?

The Palace is a program you download to be able to chat on a online server with 2D worlds and Avatars (A Avatar is a Character that represents people on The Palace server).  You can even make your own Avatars out of graphics or real pictures. 

The program is totally free.  I think the company that originally owned the software abandoned it for the former users to use.  There is very little sign up and you can even create your own Palace server!  All the Palace staff members are just chat fans like me and you.  In other words they are all volunteers.  By the way,  I really want to create a virtual Sunnydale!  Wouldn't that be awesome?! 

You can create multiple rooms on one server and link each of them together.  For example, the pictures to the left are on the Ocean Boulevard Palace.  Both are different rooms out of many that are connected in a virtual world.  For example, on the bottom picture you can click the door to go to the pool.  Cool huh?  I bet you're dreaming of a virtual Sunnydale just like me?  :-)  Imagine being in the Bronze talking to your best friends, or out on patrol in the Sunnydale cemetery.  You can even add noise and music in the rooms.  How about actual music in the background at the Bronze?  That would be sweet, and very possible to do if I knew more about programming.  You can also create your own avatars!  It's not that hard, even I was able to make some Buffy Avatars!  The Palace looks like it will be very cool for Roleplay fans, because you can be anyone you want on The Palace! 

After you download the software and start using The Palace, go to the following site to see everything you need to create your own characters from any pictures or graphics you find on the web.  Trust me, it works.  I used the same site.  Be sure to bookmark the site also, because you will need it.

What Other features does the palace offer?

• You can save a lot of avatars.  I think I have 50 and still have room for more.

• What you say comes from your avatar in chat balloons.

• Whisper and Ignore features

• There are thousands of palaces.  At any give point there is at least 1500 to 2000 people on the various Palaces.  The Mansion Palace usually has 300 people roaming around.

• There are sticky Balloons to tell if you are away.

• You can check the chat log if you missed any of the chat balloons.

Why did I create this site?

Sense Buffy the Vampire Slayer got cancelled, the days are numbered for the official chat at http://www.upn.com/buffy, so I wanted to bring the community an alternative, that is actually better.  I don't want the community to fall apart just because the chat dies.  I also want some Buffy fans to talk to.  We must stick together!!
